  • A deep desire to be your best self and achieve your potential
  • Every situation has possibilities

A Solution-Focussed coaching conversation is typically based around the 

following principles:


  • Problems are not indications of dysfunctionality, rather they stem from a limited repertoire of behaviour
  • The focus is on the construction of solutions
  • The coachee is the expert in their own life 
  • Each coaching session is an opportunity for both coach and coachee to learn
  • The coach supports the coachee to recognise and make good use of their current resources
  • There is a fundamental expectation that positive change will occur and the coachee will do the work associated with change outside of the coaching session 
  • Clear, meaningful and specific  goal setting is based on stretching but attainable goals with a defined timeframe
  • The assumption that change can happen in a short period of time 
  • Future-orientation based on what the coachee wants to happen going forward
